Improve Your Game at Verdict Ridge Golf and Country Club
The Verdict Ridge Golf and Country Club Pro Shop is staffed with some of the most personable people that you will find at any golf club. We strive to make your golfing experience first rate each and every time you come to the club. Golf instruction is available by Class-A Members of the PGA of America. Our pros are available for individual and group instruction for all ages and skill levels. They continually research the golf industry and are knowledgeable on equipment and teaching methods to ensure that each golfer is equipped to take his or her game to the next level.
Golf Members receive free range balls to help them work on their game.
Video Swing Analysis System
Our Video Swing Analysis System features High-End motion analysis software delivering Crystal Clear Frame-by-Frame advance. We are able to capture, compare, and analyze our students then save the video clip allowing our instructors to mark, measure, and monitor the students progress. We can also email swings to our students or burn to CD with a unique voice over analysis.

Meet Our Pros
Billy Powell
Billy grew up in nearby Gaston County, where he was introduced to the game by his father. He has experience working in junior golf, having served as an instructor for The Clemson Tiger Golf Camp for three years, as well as The First Tee of Lake Norman Program. Billy has a vast array of work experience having worked at Westport Golf Club, Riverbend Golf Club, and Cowans Ford Country Club. Billy came to Verdict Ridge Golf and Country Club in 1999 as an Assistant Golf Professional and became the Head Golf Professional in 2004. Billy enjoys teaching golf and making golf a better game, one student at a time. Billy is a Class-A Member of the PGA of America, and currently
resides in Dallas, NC with his wife Dana.
Toby Lawson
Toby grew up in Gauley Bridge, WV and has been teaching golf for 35 years in the Carolinas. Prior to working at Verdict Ridge Toby was the Head Golf Professional at Salisbury Country Club. Toby is a lifetime member of the PGA. He enjoys teaching all skill levels especially juniors and beginners. When Toby is not on the lesson tee
he enjoys spending time with his wife Jan and fishing or relaxing by the lake.
Eric Morgan (Assistant Golf Professional)
Eric is a resident of Sherrills Ford and has been in the golf business for 15 years. Originally from Pinehurst, Eric spent 7 years at River Run as an assistant and previously at Salisbury Country Club. Eric has the ability to teach all level of players, but he has a particular interest in teaching junior golfers and that appealed to us as a club. Eric has instituted a new junior program that is year round and works with Junior golfers in an atmosphere that allows them to grow their game, yet continue to have fun.
